50 LPM Fuel Polisher & Control Panel (230V) Tank Mount Version (for Tanks up to 20,000 Litres) – PUM.FPS.T-50
This Fuel Polisher Unit has been created to prevent diesel fuel inside a storage tank from getting stagnant – especially those with low usage such as generator back up tanks. Even though the tanks and their diesel contents are not regularly used, they are of vital importance when needed. When fuel sits stagnant for lengthy periods of time, microbial growth known as diesel bugs begin to form, join together and create a nasty biofilm. By keeping the fuel moving and free of the contaminants that can get sucked into pumps and valuable power generation equipment, costly damage, downtime and repairs can be avoided.
How Clean is Clean?
This fuel polishing system is designed to maintain fuel at the clean oil standard ISO4406:2017 – 18/16/13 particle count / less than 200ppm water content.
It does this through a 2 stage filtration process:
– 10 Micron Particulate & Water retention filter; and
– 3 Micron Absolute Particulate Filter.
The filters are a spin-on type for ease of maintenance and replacement. There are also visual pop-up filter blockage Indicators on filter heads so filters can be replaced before becoming inoperative.
How does a fuel polisher system work?
The pump of the fuel polisher system draws stored fuel from the front of the tank through the filtration unit. This removes particulates, dirt, bacteria and water impurities. The filtered and cleaned fuel is then circulated back into the tank, thus preventing microbes from forming microbial mats and nasty sludge in your tank.
Our storage tank recirculation unit has an input for connecting to an alarm/gauge to detect a low fuel level and a leak probe for a drip tray, if installed. Benefiting from a control panel with large, coloured lights, any issues that need to be dealt with (filter blockage, low fuel level, a leak or a system fault) can be easily diagnosed. If the system identifies any of the above issues, the pump will turn off until necessary action has been taken as a safeguard. Complete with two business management system (BMS) outputs, the control panel can also send a signal of this to warn users remotely.
