What Is White Coated Copper Pipe Used For?
Copper Pipe comes in either bare or white coated and is available in 8, 10 or 15mm diameter (10mm being the most common). White plastic coated is preferred as the plastic protects the pipe from damage and corrosion. Sometimes on bigger diameters, the colour can change to yellow, which is still fine to use.
The pipe is available in either a 25 or 50 mt roll. The copper is annealed (soft) and needs an insert when used with a compression fitting. It can also be used with a ‘flared’ fitting due to its soft nature. Any underground connections must be positioned inside an inspection chamber. Pipework laid underground should be laid according to building regulations standards.
