Atlantis Delivery Terms & Conditions

These terms & conditions of our excellent delivery service work in conjunction with Atlantis terms & conditions of sale and must be read and viewed in accordance with them.

Simply put, Atlantis delivery service is second to none!  We take great pride in the service we offer to you and we are confident you will enjoy an amazing experience every time you order from us.  To begin with, we have a 98% success rate on our deliveries and we aim for every delivery to be fast and easy as possible for you.  In short, we strive to follow the OTIF rule (On Time – In Full).  We operate our own specially designed 3.5t delivery vehicles and apart from exceptional circumstances your order will be delivered on such, and by our own drivers, who take pride in their work!

We don’t just deliver tanks; we deliver the service and solutions surrounding them!  Occasionally your requirements might be exceptional, and in such cases, we would strongly encourage you to discuss these with our sales team prior to ordering where we will do all that is necessary to achieve.

Delivery Service Options & Pricing

To cover for the variety of sizes, weights and physical dimensions of the products we supply, we have the following service parameters available.  Please check the delivery tab section on each product listing on our website to see which service parameters apply for that particular product.

  • Collection Service – possible discounts applicable
    • Collection is available from either our Durham or Ely depots. We recommend you provide 24 hours’ notice so that we can prepare your order.  In some instances, you may receive a discount relating to the carriage cost element.

    • An optional extra which can be added at the checkout is available with the Collection Service as follows:
      • Heat wrap protection. The tank is wrapped in a heavy gauge heat shrink polyethylene bag to provide an extra protection during transit.  Extra cost £10.00

    • Where this option applies, delivery costs are on an ad-hoc basis due to physical dimensions or other restrictions. Please enquire with our sales team, provide them with delivery information and they will provide you with a delivery cost accordingly.

  • Standard Service – No extra cost[i]
    • On our standard delivery service, we always aim to deliver using our own transport but may sometimes use a third party carrier should circumstances dictate. This is a kerbside delivery service and includes offload.[ii]

    • Three optional extras which can be added at the checkout are available with the Standard Service which are as follows:
      • A small HIAB crane service & tank positioning for an additional extra charge of £25.00[iv]
      • A specified delivery date and time (excluding next day) for an additional extra charge of £35.00[v]
      • Heat wrap protection. The tank is wrapped in a heavy gauge heat shrink polyethylene bag to provide an extra protection during transit.  Extra cost £10.00
      • The time slot will be guaranteed to within 1 hour each way.[vi]
  • Next Day Service – £55.00 extra[vii]
    • When the urgent need arises for a next day delivery, you can count on us! If our own transport is not available to provide this, we will use a third party carrier service to ensure your order is delivered next day throughout the UK mainland.[viii]  Orders must be placed before 1pm to achieve this.

For smaller orders for accessories and such like, a parcel delivery service will be used as follows:

  • Parcel – £8.95 up to order value of £150.00 – Above £150.00 delivery is included
    • For our smaller items, a third party parcel service is used. Goods are wrapped and dispatched the same day and sent on a next day service. Orders must be received before 1pm for same day dispatch.

Areas Covered

Our delivery service in principle extends to all corners of the UK.  For the Standard Service, although in the main this is a no extra cost service, the following postcodes and restricted areas however may be subject to a relative surcharge.  For the same postcodes and restricted areas, the standard service optional extras may also be subject to a price change as also the Next Day service ‘extra cost’ which may be increased and, in some cases, may not even be possible.

The affected postcodes are those that begin with the following:  AB, IV, KW, PA, PH, PL, SA, TR, TQ.  In addition to these postcodes, the following areas would also be subject to such additional charges and restrictions.  Channel Islands, Isle of Man, Isle Of Wight, Anglesey, Isles of Scilly, Western Isles, Orkney Islands, Shetland Islands, Northern Ireland & Republic of Ireland, Scottish Highlands and Offshore Islands.

For overseas requirements, our list of countries that we have supplied continues to grow and includes Falkland Islands, Dubai, South America, Channel Islands, France, Italy, Nigeria, Ascension Island and many more.  If you have a requirement for goods to be shipped overseas, please contact us as soon as possible for us to arrange this for you.

Lead Times (arrival)

To achieve the above service levels, orders must always be received no later than 1pm.  Orders received after this time will be included in the following day’s dispatch.  Orders can be delivered any time between 07:30 – 18:30 week days only (excluding bank holidays).  If the standard service, optional extra, specific date & time service has been requested (where applicable), this will be completed within 1 hour each side of the specific time slot.

Orders of goods with collection, standard and next day services available are normally processed from stock.  This however is subject to demand and availability and our normal terms & conditions of sale.  Where these goods are not available from stock that would normally be so, we will notify you as soon as possible and you will be given the opportunity to either wait until such lead time as will be advised or you can cancel your order and receive a full refund within 24 hours[x].

For goods not normally in stock, these are made to order and a lead time will be advised at time of order.  This would be typically between 10-15 days.  This is subject to demand and you will be notified within 24 hours of order what this service level is.

Access & On-Site

Whilst the Atlantis delivery service is very unique in that we normally deliver using small 3.5t flat bed vehicles equipped with a small HIAB, it is absolutely essential however that we are notified if your access is restricted.  By restricted we mean that a normal bin lorry cannot normally access the vicinity of your property to empty rubbish bins.

Where your order is to be delivered via a third party courier, this is likely to be delivered on a larger vehicle equipped with a tail lift and so it is very important that we know of your specific requirements beforehand.

If we have to abort delivery due to not being able to access the property environs and this is because we have not been notified accordingly then you may be liable for any subsequent re-delivery costs.

The additional small HIAB crane service includes (where applicable) a small HIAB facility whereupon we can (a) offload the product and (b) in some instances, and where the location facilitates, we can HIAB the product onto a platform or base etc where you may require it.  In such cases we may also be able to use a small trolley to assist in moving the tank to your desired location, the term restricted access would also here include features such as gravel drives, narrow gateways and steps.  In addition, we are only able to offer this offload &/or HIAB service on plastic bunded tanks up to 3500 litres capacity and steel bunded tanks up to 2250 litres capacity.  If we are not advised of such features beforehand, we cannot guarantee to complete the selected delivery service in full.

We are pleased to confirm that unless otherwise notified, or if the product has an ex-works delivery service only, the product will be offloaded by ourselves.

Service Level Agreement

What we do

  1. Within 1 hour of your sales order being received, you will be notified with either (a) an order confirmation or (b) an update or question regarding your order should there be any such need.  Following a resolve to this (b), then point a will be completed
  2. (The next points 2-6 apply if your order is over £300 in value.)  You will receive a logistical update within 4 working hours after receipt of order.  Where possible, delivery arrangements will be finalised with you within 24 hours of order confirmation being issued.  Where this is not possible, you will receive an initial email notification advising of the situation and updates thereafter no more than 1 week apart.
  3. When the delivery is finalised, you will be given notice of the forthcoming delivery no less than 24 hours before the event unless special circumstances apply and, in this case, extra careful notification and care will be provided to you accordingly
  4. You will be contacted from the office on the morning of delivery with ETA/delivery window time-frame unless the delivery is via a third party courier where you will receive confirmation only that the delivery will be that day.
  5. If on our own transport, you will be contacted by our driver on the day no less than 1 hour ahead of ETA
  6. You will be followed up with delivery feedback within 48 hours of delivery completion, using Google and/or Facebook review page links.

What you do

Under normal circumstances you will be required to sign for the goods upon arrival.  This signature is to testify that the goods have been delivered in full and have arrived in good condition.  You have up to 20 minutes to inspect goods that are bulky and/or arrive by third party courier and up to 10 minutes to inspect smaller goods or parcels.  Please ensure that you inspect the goods thoroughly before signing because after the goods have been accepted, we may be unable to accept any future claims.  If you are not able to be present for the delivery and signature, we are able on request (and at your own risk) to deliver the goods without anyone present and/or without a signature.  We will on this occasion take photographs showing where the product has been left.  These can be emailed to you at your request.  Other than that, there’s nothing else to do – sit back and enjoy the show!

Tank Collection Service

Atlantis can collect your redundant tank if requested to do so.  This service costs £58.00.  The tank must be completely empty of oil, have a minimum 1” hole size drilled in the bottom and be easily accessible for our HIAB’s to lift.  This service is for tanks up to and including a 2500 litre and can be either plastic or steel.  If the above conditions are not met then we will be unable to complete this service.

Failed Delivery

Although we have an exceptional record of 98% success on our deliveries, every now and then, something can go wrong.  We do not live in a perfect world and events can arise that are beyond our control.  A tyre might get a puncture, there may be a road blockage, the vehicle might breakdown – many things can happen which cause the delivery to be exceptionally held up or even cancelled.  In such cases, we will notify you immediately, keeping you informed along the way as to what is happening and how we are rectifying the situation.  We will not accept liability for any consequential expenses or losses as a result of a failed delivery which is clearly beyond our control.

If the change is as a result of last minute and sudden changes from your side then we have the right to pass on any extra charges incurred as a result of these.

If you are timing the delivery to coincide with an install and you have only selected the standard service, we strongly recommend you either have the product delivered the day previous or select the additional service options and select a date & time service (where applicable) accordingly.
