The core of the Bletchley Park fuel infrastructure project involved the supply of a bespoke 10,000-litre steel bunded fuel storage tank from our Easytank range. Custom-engineered for durability, the unit integrates seamless piping provisions and overfill safeguards designed to operate reliably for decades.

Tank Overview & Key Features:

• Industrial Compliance: Fabricated in accordance with BS799 Part 5 standards using high-grade steel to BS EN 10025-2:2004, reinforced with internal structural tank bracing for long-term rigidity.

• 110% Secondary Containment: Built with an integrated outer bund providing 110% fluid capacity, ensuring complete compliance with UK Control of Pollution guidelines and environmental protection regulations.

• Optimized Socket Architecture: Configured with a dedicated 2″ fill point with drip cap and chain, dual 2″ top vents (tank-to-bund and bund-to-atmosphere), a 1″ top suction line with internal standpipe, a 1″ bottom outlet, and multiple auxiliary sockets (1.5″ front, 2″ rear, 1.5″ bund).

• Automated Overfill Protection: Equipped with a 2″ aluminum Mechanical Overfill Limiter threaded into a 2″ BSPP socket, preventing fluid overflow and supporting clean diesel, biodiesel B30, and heating oil.

• Logistics & Handling: Mounted on full-width structural steel support bearers and fitted with heavy-duty lifting eyes for safe handling and placement during installation.

Engineered for Long-Term Environmental Resilience

To protect the tank structure against atmospheric corrosion while blending into the surrounding landscape, Atlantis Tanks applied a multi-stage protective coating system:

• Surface Preparation: Mechanically prepared to ST2 standards prior to coating application.

• Anti-Corrosive System: Treated with Zinfos 340WS solvent-borne anti-corrosive primer and a self-priming mid-sheen topcoat (50% gloss).

• Coating Profile: Applied to a controlled thickness of 150 microns wet film / 75 microns dry film thickness.

• Finish: Specification finished in Holly Bush Green for a clean, professional appearance.
