Atlantis Tanks recently collaborated with specialist contractor J W Hinchliffe (Tanks) Ltd to deliver a compact, high-integrity fuel storage solution for Bolton Town Hall.

Specifically, we engineered and supplied a custom 600 Litre Steel Bunded Diesel/Oil Tank from our StoraFUEL range, designed to function as a dependable daily generator feed unit for municipal emergency power.

Civic infrastructure and local government buildings require continuous, fail-safe power resilience to maintain essential public services during power outages. To meet the space constraints and technical demands of Bolton Town Hall, Atlantis Tanks manufactured a tailored, high-performance steel day tank with dedicated pump mounting provisions, multi-port socket configurations, and complete secondary containment.

• High-Performance Coating: ST2 surface preparation with a Zinfos 340WS solvent-borne anti-corrosive primer and self-priming topcoat (150-micron wet / 75-micron dry film thickness in Black)

• Handling & Support: Full-length structural steel bearers and integrated lifting eyes for safe transport and empty positioning

Technical Socket Architecture and Automation Provisions

Compact day tanks require precise piping integration to regulate fuel transfer between bulk storage units and standby generators. The unit incorporates a custom manifold and controller plate setup:

• Controller & Pump Provision: Integrated 200mm x 200mm mounting plate designed specifically for a day tank controller unit and pump set

• Fuel Transfer Sockets: Dedicated 1″ socket for bulk tank fuel supply and 1″ return line socket

• Suction Line: 1″ top suction point fitted with an internal standpipe

• Dual Venting System: 2″ tank-to-bund vent and 2″ bund-to-atmosphere vent located at the rear top section

• Auxiliary Porting: 3x 1.5″ front-top tank sockets, 1x 2″ rear-top tank socket, 1x 1.5″ rear-top bund socket, and 1x 1″ bottom outlet
