Securing Standby Power with Patent-Pending Imperium Technology

Atlantis Tanks recently fulfilled an essential equipment order for Tanks For Everything Ltd based in Walford. The project required a compact, highly reliable fuel storage solution specifically designed for dependable fuel feed and return to standby or prime-power generators.

To meet these operational demands, we supplied a custom 2000 Litre Steel Bunded Imperium® Generator Feed Tank. This unit was manufactured using our patent-pending Imperium Technology, ensuring both modularity and versatility for critical power applications.

Engineering Specifications: 2000L Imperium System

This generator feed unit was engineered to provide maximum operational flexibility while adhering strictly to UK oil storage regulations.

  • Capacity Metrics: 2076 Litres Nominal (2186 Litres Brimful), providing a highly efficient 2010 Litres of Useable Capacity with an Overfill Valve fitted.

  • Outer Dimensions: 1830mm (L) x 1100mm (W) x 1250mm (H).

  • Inner Tank Dimensions: 1700mm (L) x 1040mm (W) x 1248mm (H).

  • Structural Material: Constructed from S275 JR structural steel with anti-rust protection and built meticulously to BS 799-5 standards.

  • Secondary Containment: Fully 110% bunded, guaranteeing environmental compliance and safety.

  • High-Performance Coating: ST2 surface prep combined with a Zinfos 340WS high-performance anti-corrosive system. The finish provides 150 microns WFT / 75 microns DFT in a mid-sheen.

  • Aesthetics: The tank body is finished in RAL 7015 Grey, accented by a Door finished in RAL 2001 Orange.

  • Handling & Support: Supplied with full-width bearers and 4 lifting eyes designated for empty lifts only.

Technical Socket Architecture and Instrumentation

A generator feed tank relies heavily on its internal plumbing and socket architecture to seamlessly supply power during critical outages. The Imperium system includes:

  • Dedicated Feed/Return Connections: 1 x 1″ removable drop tube for feed complete with a foot valve & strainer, alongside a 1″ top return socket. The unit also offers a generator hose option with quick-connect couplings.

  • Fill Point & Security: A 2″ fill point conveniently situated inside a lockable top box to prevent unauthorized access or tampering.

  • Venting System: Fully compliant venting featuring a 2″ tank-to-bund vent and a 2″ bund-to-atmosphere vent.

  • Auxiliary Porting: 1 x 1.5″ tank socket located inside the cabinet and 1 x 1.5″ bund socket.

  • Instrumentation Provisions: Engineered to be fully compatible with gauges, alarms & fuel monitoring equipment, it features a dedicated front-right mounting plate specifically for a gauge or alarm.
